Yellow Dog Music and Atlantic Records Partnership Shocks Music Industry

By Lorena Roberts on May 25, 2018

According to a recent press release, Yellow Dog Music and Atlantic Records have joined forces, shocking the music industry. The partnership debuts with the release of Brynn Elliott’s “Time of Our Lives,” which arrives today.

A graduate of Harvard University, Elliott spent her undergraduate years studying philosophy. In addition to her studies, Elliott attracted many followers because of her unique singing/songwriting abilities. Her extended playlist (EP) will be released later this year, which will include her hit song “Might Not Like Me.” The EP stands on a philosophical foundation, as each song is inspired by a different philosopher or set of philosophical ideas. Elliott’s track record includes performing more than 200 shows, both as a special guest and solo. She’s performed as a special guest for artists Brandi Carlile, Grace Potter, and Alanis Morissette.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Big Yellow Dog was founded by Co-owner/CEO Carla Wallace and Co-owner Kerry O’Neil. While Yellow Dog Music has been extensively successful on their own, they are looking forward to the future with their new music partnership. In the past, Yellow Dog Music has racked up many awards, including four Grammy® Awards, thirty-four #1 songs, four “Song of the Year” awards from ACM, BMI, and ASCAP, and five ASCAP/BMI Pop awards. Artists who have worked with Yellow Dog Music include Demi Lovato, Rascal Flatts, Luke Bryan, Charlie Puth, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Lane, Jason Derulo, Florida Georgia Line, DJ Khaled, Dierks Bentley, Cole Swindell, Fifth Harmony, Martina McBride, Michael Buble, Kacey Musgraves, and many more.

Atlantic Records is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The record label company started as a one-room operation in New York City, but has since grown into one of the most prominent record label groups in modern music. Iconic artists Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, John Coltrane, and Led Zeppelin all recorded with Atlantic Records. Today’s Atlantic Records artists include Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Cardi B, Coldplay, David Guetta, and so many more.

Joining forces with “such a legendary label, and most importantly, to be able to work with Atlantic’s powerful team of highly innovative music lovers” is something Big Yellow Dog Music is looking forward to, says co-owner and CEO Carla Wallace.

The friendship between Pete Ganbarg, President of Atlantic Records, and Carla Wallace and Kerry O’Neil serves as the foundation for their new partnership, as both of them are over-the-moon excited to collaborate.

“I’ve been friendly with Carla and Kerry for a while and have always been impressed by their taste, sincerity, and successful early bets on creative talent who have gone on to incredible long-term careers,” said Ganbarg. “The more we spoke about it, the more it seemed like a no-brainer to partner up.  And the fact that literally one day after our deal closed, Carla heard Brynn’s music for the first time is such incredible synchronicity that we couldn’t have made it up if we tried. Brynn is a world-class talent who is just beginning to scratch the surface of what’s to come. All of us at Atlantic are thrilled to be working with both Brynn and Big Yellow Dog.”

This exclusive partnership is truly joining the best of both worlds in the music industry. Launching the partnership with Brynn Elliott is expected to be the perfect start to a very successful collaboration.
